Some Interesting Facts
Up to 60% of the rubbish that ends up in the dustbin could be recycled.
The unreleased energy(Năng lượng chưa được phát hành) contained in the average dustbin each year could power a television for 5,000 hours.
The largest lake in the Britain could be filled with rubbish from the UK in 8 months.
On average, 16% of the money you spend on a product pays for the packaging, which ultimately ends up as rubbish.
As much as 50% of waste in the average dustbin could be composted.
Up to 80% of a vehicle can be recycled.
9 out of 10 people would recycle more if it were made easier.
Recycling is one of the best ways for you to have a positive impact on the world in which we live. Recycling is important to both the natural environment and us. We must act fast as the amount of waste we create is increasing all the time.
The amount of rubbish we create is constantly increasing because:
Increasing wealth means that people are buying more products and ultimately creating more waste.
Increasing population means that there are more people on the planet to create waste.
New packaging and technological products are being developed, much of these products contain materials that are not biodegradable.( phân hủy sinh học
New lifestyle changes, such as eating fast food, means that we create additional waste that isn’t biodegradable.
Environmental Importance
Recycling is very important as waste has a huge negative impact (tác động tiêu cực)on the natural environment.
Harmful chemicals and greenhouse gasses are released (thoát ra) from rubbish in landfill sites(bãi rác
). Recycling helps to reduce the pollution caused by waste.
Habitat destruction(phá hủy môi trường sống) and global warming(nóng lên toàn cầu) are some the affects caused by deforestation. Recycling reduces the need for raw materials so that the rainforests can be preserved.
Huge amounts of energy are used when making products from raw materials. Recycling requires much less energy and therefore helps to preserve natural resources.
Importance To People
Recycling is essential to cities around the world and to the people living in them.
No space for waste. Our landfill sites are filling up fast, by 2010, almost all landfills in the UK will be full.
Reduce financial expenditure in the economy. Making products from raw materials costs much more than if they were made from recycled products.
Preserve natural resources for future generations. Recycling reduces the need for raw materials; it also uses less energy, therefore preserving natural resources for the future.

Some people think that the family is the most important influence on young adults. Other people think that friends are the most important influence on young adults. Which view do you agree with? Adulthood is the period in our lives when our characters and personality are formed. The environment where young adults grow up influences their behaviors. The roles of family, school and friends are important factors that affect young adults in different ways. Considering these factors, I would like to say that the family is the most important influence on young adults rather than others.  The first reason is that the family is environment where young adults grow up. The parents play the most important role in the behavior of young adults. Fathers and mothers are people from whom young adults learn how to speak, how to behave with others. If parents spoke to each other in rude manner and beat each other for every simple thing young adults would think that it is the mean of communication with others. For example, in my family I have never seen my father and mother talk to each other in rough manner and have quarrel. When they have problems which is normal in every family they deal this problem easily and try to understand each other and put themselves in the other’s place.  The second reason is that family can show you or guide you what is wrong or good, if your new friends are good for you, if your decision is good for your future. In my culture the parents have to say their opinions about our decisions. The young adults rely on their parents because of their life experiences and they know that their parents want only the best for them. So, when young adults have friends, who are involved in immoral activities, their parents warn their young adults about the bad result that could come from this friendship. Most of time young adults accept the warning of their parents in our culture. In summary, I think that the environment where young adults grew up plays important role in their lives. Family can influence the behavior of young adults and their decision about friends.

Children do not grow up in a vacuum. There are two ways that families influence values and expectations of their children: directly and indirectly. Parents directly teach their children values. This includes teaching right and wrong, religious education, teaching about interacting with people, and rules and expectations.
